Riverview Hotel ‒ 267 Tweed Valley Way, Murwillumbah
Set right on the banks of the beautiful Tweed River and shadowed by majestic Mt Warning, this pub is one you definitely want to visit. Not only does their bistro serve traditional pub classics but they also have a range of delectable seasonal dishes to tempt you and take advantage of the region’s famous produce.
Imperial Hotel ‒ 115 Murwillumbah Street, Murwillumbah
Almost every country town in Australia has an Imperial hotel and the one in Murwillumbah is definitely worth a visit. Established in 1931, this pub is one of the oldest hotels in the Tweed region, lovingly restored with charming Victorian architecture. In the main dining area, you’ll find gorgeous booths that have been repurposed from the old bar.
Tyalgum Hotel ‒ Coolman Street, Tyalgum
A traditional Aussie pub with a twist, the hotel boasts its own swimming pool that’s open to everyone and a great favourite with the locals in summer. At the Tyalgum, you’ll find plenty of outdoor seating areas where you can take in the winter sunshine and enjoy glorious views of the border ranges. They have a traditional dinner menu that also features a range of vegetarian options.

Mount Warning Hotel ‒ 1497 Kyogle Road, Uki
The Mount Warning Hotel is simply stunning with its wide entry staircase and glorious views to Mount Warning. In winter, you can enjoy a meal and a drink in front of a roaring fire or sit outside on the verandah to enjoy the sunshine and the views.
Federal Hotel ‒ Main Street, Alstonville
This pub is affectionately known as ‘The Fed’ to the locals and has been in operation for over 100 years. Over the years, the hotel has undergone many refurbishments, but its original Federation architecture has been maintained. There’s a lovely shaded beer garden where you can enjoy a drink with friends ‒ and remember to check out their weekly specials for a great meal at a bargain price.

The Eltham Hotel ‒ 441 Eltham Road, Eltham
This lovely historic pub was built in 1903 and has a colourful history. Apart from being a public house in the early days, it operated as a brothel. Today, however, the charming old building has been fully restored to its former glory. There’s an extensive menu ranging from pub classics to seasonal specials and even an offering of vegetarian and vegan dishes.
Tumbulgum Tavern ‒ 124/136 Riverside Drive, Tumbulgum
Sitting right on the banks of the Tweed River, this pub first opened its doors in 1887. It’s affectionately known to the locals as ‘The Tumby Pub’. The lovely historic building will welcome you inside with delectable aromas of freshly cooked pub meals and the promise of a nice cold beer, a glass of wine or a popular cider.
