The Northern Rivers area is a mecca for vibrant art and music events. No matter where you are in the region, there’s bound to be something that piques your interest and that will keep you happily entertained in the latter part of this year.

July events

Splendour in the Grass ‒‒ July 21 to July 23
Held at the North Byron Parklands, this iconic music festival will celebrate its 20th anniversary this year. Featured artists include Gorillaz, The Strokes, Tyle, The Creator and Liam Gallagher as well as many others.
August events
Bangalow Music Festival ‒ August 17-20
To celebrate the 20th anniversary festival, they have curated a thrilling program that embodies the significant achievement of presenting world-class classical music in Bangalow to audiences from all over Australia for the past two decades.

Byron Writers Festival ‒ August 11 to August 13
The Byron Writers Festival will have a new venue this year; the North Byron Parklands. At the event, you’ll be able to meet your favourite authors and discover exceptional new writers.
September
Tyalgum Music Festival ‒ September 29 to October 1
This year the Tyalgum Music Festival is sure to be an amazing event. Concerts scheduled over the three days to take place in the Tyalgum Hall. For music lovers this is an event not to be missed.
October events
Byron Bay International Film Festival ‒ October 20 to October 29
This year, the film festival will be held across various venues around Byron Bay. For film lovers, this event is a must-see and is the largest of its kind in regional Australia.
November events
Byron Latin Fiesta ‒ November 2 to November 5
If you love Latin dance and music, this festival is sure to impress you. Shimmy along to the Byron Community Centre for Latin dance workshops, live bands and performances, a pool party, plus a Pre and After party. Definitely a must for party lovers.
